Josie Emmons Turner is a Northwest American poet, residing in the village of Gig Harbor, Washington. She served as Tacoma Poet Laureate 2011-2013. Her work has been published in many anthologies including the online journal Collateral, High Shelf Press, Floating Bridge Review, California Quartery, and Puget Sound Poetry Connection’s Windblown. She has participated in public art collaborative installations with artists Kathy Gore Fuss and Jennifer Crushcoff and in 2020, composer Gregory Youtz selected five of her poems for a song cycle entitled “Songs for the Spring of Waiting”. These poems are dedicated to her late husband, the artist William Turner.
