Lanette Ware-Bushfield is a dynamic and award-winning storyteller whose work spans poetry, journalism, screenwriting, and performance. Her writing has appeared in The Globe and Mail, Mothering Magazine, and CHILLFILTR Magazine, where her poem “Hunger” captured the longing and isolation of quarantine life. Her poem “TIME,” published in 2020, offered a poignant reflection on the emotional toll of the COVID-19 pandemic. Most recently, her powerful piece “1619–2024” was featured by the Festival for Poetry, confronting historical trauma and resilience through evocative verse.
Lanette is also a contributing poet in the upcoming TPOT Book of Poetry, edited by Sam Turenne and Anthony Q. Farrell, further cementing her place in contemporary poetic discourse.
As an actor and executive producer, Lanette leads A WWB Production, a creative studio dedicated to amplifying underrepresented voices through film and television. Her on-screen and behind-the-scenes work reflects her commitment to storytelling that challenges, heals, and inspires.
