The loss is a personal feeling: selfish, sad and lonely. The crisis is actually about those emotions we are forced to let go of, and aren’t trained to, deal with. When those memories about those who are dead, weigh us down to face a reality that the person isn’t coming back, to hear us and respond, it hurts.
