SharentEtiquette

Author: Kristin Johnson

If you are a sharent who loves to post photos of your child or children, make sure there is no identifying information on the Internet that can allow trolls or predators to find and stalk them; protect them with the equivalent of a cryptocurrency vault; make sure that those photos will not come back to bite them in a job interview twenty years from now if we still have the Internet and not an automatic implant in our heads that connects us to Skynet; be sure that, if your friends are connected to you on social media, that there is nothing embarrassing in these photos unless you want to exercise the right to make your teen run for cover; make sure there is at least one relative connected to you on social media who always loves to one-up you with their Honor Student; and be prepared for the inevitable trolls who will comment about your parenting because everyone, everywhere, comments on parenting on the Internet.
