    walk to the end of the driveway, grab the paper, 
    cook breakfast, fill early morning with eggs & oregano.

    decide it’s time to go, take too long to leave,
    mosey down the jetbridge at the sound of last boarding call.

    run to get the phone before it quits ringing,
    give directions to a misplaced tourist on Fifth Avenue.

    dip a child’s toes in the ocean for the first time, 
    throw up off the side of a deepsea fishing boat 
Breathe in, breathe out
    survive cancer, 
amputation, 
sepsis. 
Breathe in, breathe out
    imagine a future. 
Breathe in, breathe out
    call someone to talk to.
Breathe in, breathe out
    wrap its arms around another.
